Frequently Asked Questions

1. How do I know if my child is registered?
If you registered directly with Skyhawks, then you are registered upon our receipt of your registration and full payment. Skyhawks will only contact you if there is a concern about your registration. If you register on the Skyhawks website, you will receive an instant online confirmation. If the registration was sent to any other organization, please contact that organization directly about their confirmation policy.

2. My child can't attend the program after all, can I get a refund?
Skyhawks has a no-refund policy. However, if you registered directly with Skyhawks and are unable to attend the program you registered for, you may apply your registration to a future program this year or next year by calling 1-800-804-3509. Refunds will only be given if you have registered through Skyhawks and purchased Refund Protection. If you signed up through another organization, please contact that organization directly about their refund policy. Skyhawks does not pro-rate programs for missed camp days.

2a. Skyhawks Refund Protection Plan Skyhawks offers Refund Protection for $7 per program, which is due at the time of registration. Refund Protection entitles you to a full refund of your registration if you cancel for any reason at least 2 weeks prior to the start date of the program. Please note that the $7 Refund Protection fee is non-refundable. If you cancel within 2 weeks of the program start date, you may apply your registration to a future program this year or next year.

2b. Skyhawks Store Refund/Exchange Policy:
Store items are eligible for exchange only. Skyhawks has a no refunds policy. For exchanges, please log into your Skyhawks Membership account to receive instructions. We are not responsible for lost or stolen merchandise. Customer is responsible for return postage.

3. Do you have multiple child discounts?
Because our programs are priced as low as possible, Skyhawks does not offer multiple child discounts.

4. Can I get a discount if my child will only be at the program for three days?
Skyhawks does not pro-rate program fees.

5. Who are your coaches, and what are their qualifications?
Skyhawks recruits highly motivated individuals who have demonstrated an exceptional ability to communicate well with children. All coaches have participated in their respective sports at either the high school or college level. All coaches must complete an application, personal interview, background investigation, classroom training, field training and pass a coaches' test prior to their first day of work.

6. Is a six hour program too long for my child? Will my child get bored, hungry or tired?
Our programs are the same duration as a typical school day and we have found that even young children do quite well for this period of time. Our coaches have plenty of games and activities for the participants, and they will be changing activities every 10-15 minutes. The variation of activities keeps participants involved and alert. Participants take water/bathroom breaks throughout the day, as well as lunch and snack breaks. Parents are always welcome to visit.

7. How are the participants grouped?
Skyhawks groups children by age and ability. If your child would like to be placed with a friend, make your request with the on-site Director and then place the children in the same line before the program begins on Monday. The on-site Director will do his/her best to meet your request to keep friends and/or siblings that are close in age together. Our typical age groups are as follows: 3 ½ to 4 year olds, 4 - 6 year olds, 6 - 8 year olds, 8 - 11year olds, and 11-14 year olds.

8. My 8-year old has never played soccer; will he/she feel out of place?
Skyhawks tailors its programs to introductory, intermediate and advanced players. Groups will be divided by age and then by ability. Fun and enjoyment are priorities at our programs. The emphasis is on learning skills and techniques in a low pressure, appropriately competitive environment.

9. Are the programs co-ed?
Yes, unless the program listed specifically states otherwise

10. My child has already attended a Skyhawks program, will he/she learn anything new this year?
You bet! Skyhawks offers a progressive curriculum that develops young athletes’ skills in an age-appropriate format. Children will graduate from one program to the next.

11. Do you run programs in the rain?
Yes, rain or shine we are playing! For other weather information see our “Weather Policy” below.

Weather Policy
Unfortunately, Skyhawks participants will encounter some rainy days. Skyhawks will not cancel programs due to rain showers. However, in the case of extreme weather conditions, the director at each site may cancel or postpone the program for the safety of the participants. To determine if there is a cancellation or postponement, please check with the program director at your site. Please note, Skyhawks’ 1-800 telephone numbers may not have updated weather information. In the rare event of a program cancellation, your child will not be left alone. The onsite director will ensure that every participant is picked up by a parent, guardian or by the emergency contact. Skyhawks cannot provide refunds for cancellations or postponements that are weather-related.
