Can I get a discount if my child will only be at the program for three days?  (back to top)
Skyhawks Sports does not pro-rate program fees.

Who are your coaches, and what are their qualifications?  (back to top)
Skyhawks Sports recruits highly motivated individuals who have demonstrated an exceptional ability to communicate well with children. All coaches have participated in their respective sports at either the high school or college level. All coaches must complete an application, personal interview, background investigation, classroom training, field training and pass a coaches' test prior to their first day of work. Click here for more information about our coaches.

Is a six hour program too long for my child? Will my child get bored, hungry or tired?  (back to top)
Our programs are the same duration as a typical school day, and we have found that even young children do quite well for this period of time. Our coaches have plenty of games and activities for the participants, and they will be changing activities every 10-15 minutes. The variation of activities keeps participants involved and alert. Participants take water/bathroom breaks throughout the day, as well as lunch and snack breaks. Parents are always welcome to visit.

How are the participants grouped?  (back to top)
Skyhawks groups children by age and ability. If your child would like to be placed with a friend, make your request with the on-site Director and then place the children in the same line before the program begins on Monday. The on-site Director will do his/her best to meet your request to keep friends and/or siblings that are close in age together. Our typical age groups are as follows: 3 ½ to 4 year olds, 4 - 6 year olds, 6 - 8 year olds, 8 - 11year olds, and 11-14 year olds.

My 8-year old has never played this sport; will he/she feel out of place?   (back to top)
Skyhawks Sports tailors its programs to introductory, intermediate, and advanced players. Groups will be divided by age and then by ability. Fun and enjoyment are priorities at our programs. The emphasis is on learning skills and techniques in a low pressure, appropriately competitive environment.

Are the programs co-ed?  (back to top)
Yes, unless the program listed specifically states otherwise.

My child has already attended a Skyhawks Sports camp/program, will he/she learn anything new this year?  (back to top)
You bet! Skyhawks Sports offers a progressive curriculum that develops young athletes’ skills in an age-appropriate format. Children will graduate from one program to the next.

Will Skyhawks provide supervision for children who register for back to back camps?  (back to top)
Yes. Skyhawks will provide supervision for participants during the break between a Skills Camp and a Recreation Camp. The break will typically be between 30 and 60 minutes.

Do your programs run in the rain?  (back to top)
Yes, rain or shine we are playing! For other weather information see our “Weather Policy” below.

Weather Policy  (back to top)
Unfortunately, Skyhawks Sports participants will encounter some rainy days. Skyhawks will not cancel programs due to rain showers. However, in the case of extreme weather conditions, the director at each site may cancel or postpone the program for the safety of the participants. To determine if there is a cancellation or postponement, please check with the program director at your site. Please note, Skyhawks’ 1-800 telephone number may not have updated weather information. In the rare event of a program cancellation, your child will not be left alone. The on-site director will ensure that every participant is picked up by a parent, guardian or by the emergency contact. Skyhawks Sports cannot provide refunds for cancellations or postponements that are weather-related.
