How do I know if my child is registered?
If you registered directly with Skyhawks Sports Academy, then you are registered upon our receipt of your registration and full payment. Skyhawks Sports Academy will only contact you only if there is a concern about your registration. If you register on the Skyhawks Sports Academy website, you will receive an instant online confirmation. My child can't attend the program after all, can I get a refund?
If your child is unable to attend the program after registering, you can apply the registration fee to a future Skyhawks Sports Academy program in the current or following year by calling 1.800.804.3509. Refunds will only be given if you have registered through Skyhawks Sports Academy, purchased Refund Protection and requested the refund two weeks or more before the program start date. (Not all programs are eligible for Refund Protection.) If you registered through another organization, please contact that organization directly about their refund policy. Skyhawks Sports Academy does not pro-rate programs for missed camp days.

Will my child's program be cancelled or relocated?
We hope your program isn’t cancelled but occasionally we don’t get enough participants to ensure a successful program. There are minimum numbers for each sport, which vary based on age. We encourage you to invite your child’s friends to participate in the program as well. In the event your program is cancelled due to low enrollment, you will be notified and given the option to transfer or receive credit towards a future program. If you prefer a refund, you must let us know within two weeks of the program's cancellation date. If your program is cancelled due to circumstances beyond Skyhawks' control, you will be notified and given the option to transfer to another program or receive a credit towards a future program.
Most program locations do not change, but occasionally unforeseen circumstances arise that require us to change to a different location. In the event that this happens to your program, we will notify you about the new location. Every effort is made to keep the new location close to the original site but if you are unable to meet at the new location, you will have the option of moving to a different program or receiving a credit toward a future program.

Skyhawks Refund Protection Plan:
Skyhawks Sports Academy offers Refund Protection for $10 per program, (for most programs) which is due at the time of registration and is non-refundable. Refund Protection entitles you to a full refund of your registration if you cancel for any reason AT LEAST 2 weeks PRIOR to the start date of the program. If you cancel less than 2 weeks prior to the program start date, you will receive a credit that can go towards future programs this year or next year. Refunds will only be given if you have registered through Skyhawks, purchased Refund Protection and requested the refund two weeks or more before the program start date. Not all programs are eligible for Refund Protection.

Who are your coaches, and what are their qualifications?
Skyhawks Sports Academy recruits highly motivated individuals who have demonstrated an exceptional ability to communicate well with children. All coaches have participated in their respective sports at either the high school or college level. All coaches must complete an application, personal interview, background investigation, classroom training, field training and pass a coaches' test prior to their first day of work. Click here for more information about our coaches.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Is a six hour program too long for my child? Will my child get bored, hungry or tired?
Our programs are the same duration as a typical school day, and we have found that even young children do quite well for this period of time. Our coaches have plenty of games and activities for the participants, and they will be changing activities every 10-15 minutes. The variation of activities keeps participants involved and alert. Participants take water/bathroom breaks throughout the day, as well as lunch and snack breaks. Parents are always welcome to visit.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

How are the participants grouped?
Skyhawks groups children by age and ability. If your child would like to be placed with a friend, make your request with the on-site Director and then place the children in the same line before the program begins on Monday. The on-site Director will do his/her best to meet your request to keep friends and/or siblings that are close in age together. Our typical age groups are as follows: 3 ½ to 4 year olds, 4 - 6 year olds, 6 - 8 year olds, 8 - 11year olds, and 11-14 year olds.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My 8-year old has never played this sport; will he/she feel out of place?
Skyhawks Sports Academy tailors its programs to introductory, and intermediate, players. Groups will be divided by age and then by ability. Fun and enjoyment are priorities at our programs. The emphasis is on learning skills and techniques in a low pressure, appropriately competitive environment.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Are the programs co-ed?
Yes, unless the program listed specifically states otherwise.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My child has already attended a Skyhawks Sports Academy camp/program, will he/she learn anything new this year?
You bet! Skyhawks Sports Academy offers a progressive curriculum that develops young athletes’ skills in an age-appropriate format. Children will graduate from one program to the next.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What is Skyhawks’ participant behavior policy?
While participant behavior is not usually an issue at Skyhawks programs, we have a simple protocol in place to manage behavior challenges with participants. Our first step when we experience a behavior issue with a child is to have a discussion and to better understand how we can help. If the negative behavior continues, we have the child take a short timeout where they control the duration. When they are ready to return, they can rejoin activities. If there is a second behavior incident on the same day, the child is placed in a second timeout where the coach controls the duration based on the severity of his/her actions. If behavior challenges continue, the parent will be contacted by the on-site director to seek additional support. In rare cases, a child may be removed from camp for the day or removed from the program all together. All actions related to addressing behavior, depend on the severity of each case. Please contact us if you have questions about our behavior policy.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

How does Skyhawks manage bullying when it occurs at programs?
Skyhawks takes the emotional well-being of all participants very seriously. Bullying in the form racism, physical abuse, verbal abuse, sexual bullying, emotional intimidation or cyberbullying is not tolerated at Skyhawks programs. In the event an incident of bullying occurs between a group of participants, the parents of the children involved will be informed immediately or at pick-up time, depending on the severity of the incident. If the behavior continues with one or more participants, coaches will consult with local Skyhawks management on considering expulsion from the program or next steps in line with Skyhawks participant behavior policy.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What is your weather policy?
Rain or shine, we are playing!
Skyhawks will not cancel programs due to seasonal, weather-related conditions. However, in the case of extreme weather, Skyhawks may cancel or postpone programs for the safety of the participants. To determine if there is a cancellation or postponement, please check with the program director at your site. In the rare event of a cancellation, your child will not be left alone. Skyhawks cannot provide refunds for cancellations or postponements that are weather-related.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

How do you handle air quality issues?
If the air quality reaches an unhealthy level before the start of a program, we will try to move activities inside. If we do not have access to an indoor alternative, we may have to cancel the program for the day. If the air quality worsens during the middle of a program day, we will modify our activities, take more breaks and do light activities that cause minimal exertion. Skyhawks does not provide refunds for cancellations or postponements because of air quality issues.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What happens if I am late to pick up my child?
If you arrive later than 15 minutes past the end time of your child’s program, a late fee of $1 per minute will be charged to your account. While we understand there may be situations beyond your control, we ask that you respect the listed program times.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Why am I being charged a Non-Resident Fee?
Some organizations charge fees for non-resident participation. These fees and the residency requirements are established by the organization. We use your address and the city boundary to determine whether a non-resident fee is owed. We utilize coordinate data from OpenStreetMap Foundation (OSMF) to determine city boundaries. OpenStreetMap® is open data, licensed under the Open Data Commons Open Database License (ODbL) by the OpenStreetMap Foundation (OSMF).

What do I need to know about the upcoming registration site change beginning Fall 2023?
Beginning with the Fall 2023 season, Skyhawks will be switching to a new registration website. The change will result in increased site stability and is part of a larger website and backend system redesign. All Summer 2023 registration will take place in the existing registration site https://www.skyhawks.com/search/. Beginning with Fall 2023, all program registrations will be taken in the new system, https://register.skyhawks.com/. Upon accessing the new site, you will need to create a new customer account. Start by searching for your program and clicking the orange “View Details” button to view program information. From there, click the blue “Register for an account” button on the bottom right-hand side of the page. Follow the steps to create your new account and add your home address. You will then be sent back to the program details page where you can enter your participant’s information and add the registration to your cart.
